Like us, Attorney Yahima Suarez understands the importance of a plan. Don't get me wrong: I know that we can't predict the future. But that makes a contingency all the more important.

I'm not advocating for living on anxiety's razor edge, but adversity does rear its head every once in a while -- that's life's nature. And because life is unpredictable, preparation is paramount. No one understands this better than Suarez, who is focused on planning for her clients' futures. At the heart of her methodology is the family. She understand that bond shouldn't be overtaken by the courts or the government. Her estate planning protects individuals, their families, and their assets from organizations with different interests.

The most important aspect of Suarez's work is protecting those who can't protect themselves.

Many parents fear that, if they passed away, their kids would be left at the whim of some nameless agency. A life plan protects children by mandating, in black and white, who should raise them and safeguard their parents' legacy. Suarez is dedicated to creating plans that give parents and families peace of mind despite the possibilities.

Who is your biggest role model? Why?

My mother. She is strong, positive and she has taught me to be the person I am today. I would not be me without her. She has taught me to be myself, independent, giving, and to never give up.

What's the message you'd like to share with the world?

Estate Planning is about setting protections for loved ones during life and beyond. It is better to plan well and not need it than to need a plan and not have it. If you do not have it, the government will have a plan for you (and that may be very different than what you had in mind). Protecting families and values is extremely important for me, as much as protecting my clients' assets. I like educating people on this subject and my mission is to bring this important information to as many people as I can. Knowledge is power.

Something most people don’t know about her: I wanted to be a combat pilot -- I love airplanes. I have never dyed my hair.
